NETGEAR Genie allows you to manage your router, including changing your WiFi password, SSID, creating a guest network, and configuring other settings. You can access the router admin panel at http://192.168.1.1 or http://routerlogin.net.
How to Login to NETGEAR Router
To access routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1, make sure your device is connected to your NETGEAR router’s WiFi network. The default WiFi credentials are printed on the back of your router. Follow these steps to log in:
- Open a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 or routerlogin.net in the address bar.
- Enter the following default credentials:
- Username: admin
- Password: password
- Click OK to access the NETGEAR router admin panel.
How to Change NETGEAR WiFi SSID and Password
- Log in to your NETGEAR admin panel using the method above.
- Go to the Wireless tab.
- In the Wireless Network Name (SSID) field, enter your new network name.
- In the Security Options (WPA2-PSK) section, enter your new WiFi password in the Password/Network Key field.
- Click Apply to save the changes. Your new SSID and password will now be active, and connected devices will need to reconnect using the updated credentials.
How to Recover NETGEAR Admin Password
If you forget your NETGEAR admin password, you can recover it using the password recovery feature:
- Connect your PC to the NETGEAR WiFi network.
- Open a browser and visit www.routerlogin.net or www.routerlogin.com.
- When the login page appears, click Cancel to be redirected to the Router Password Recovery page.
- Enter your router’s serial number, which is printed on a label at the back or bottom of the router, and click Continue.
- Answer the security questions. If you cannot answer them, you will need to factory reset your router.
- Once the questions are answered correctly, your admin password will be displayed on the screen.
