192.168.178.1 – Fritz Box Router Login and Settings

192.168.178.1 is the default IP address for Fritz Box routers. You can use this IP to access the router’s web interface at http://192.168.178.1. Through this interface, you can manage all router settings, including LAN configuration, Port Forwarding, and WiFi network settings.

How to Login to 192.168.178.1

Follow these steps to access the Fritz Box router web interface:

  1. Connect your device to the router via Ethernet cable or WiFi.
  2. Open a web browser on your device.
  3. Type http://192.168.178.1 or 192.168.178.1 in the browser’s URL bar and press Enter.
  4. You will see the login page. Enter the username and password. By default, most Fritz Box routers use admin for both username and password. You can find this information on the label at the back of your router.
  5. Click Login. If the credentials are correct, you will gain access to the router’s web interface to make the required changes.

Note: Ensure you type the IP address correctly. Avoid typing 192.168.l78.1 with the letter “l” instead of “1”, as this will redirect you to a search engine instead of the router login page.

How to Change WiFi SSID and Password

  2. Click on WLAN from the left menu.
  3. Select Radio Network.
  4. In the Name of the Wireless Radio Network (SSID) field, enter your desired network name.
  5. Click Apply to save changes.
  6. To change the password, click Security from the left menu.
  7. Enter the new password in the Network Key field.
  8. Click Apply to save the new password.

Forgot Router Login Password?

If you forget your router login password, you can regain access by performing a factory reset. This will revert all settings, including passwords, to their defaults:

  1. Locate the small RESET button at the back of the router.
  2. Use a needle, paperclip, or similar object to press and hold the button for 10-15 seconds.
  3. Release the button. The router LEDs will blink, and the router will reboot.
  4. After reboot, all settings will return to factory defaults. You can now log in using the default username and password.

By following these steps, you can easily access your Fritz Box router, change your WiFi network settings, and recover your login if you forget the password.
